The company I work for is the primary visual effects company on the new Fox TV show, The Sara Conner Chronicles, which is a spin off from the Terminator film franchise.

Mannn, is this film inconsistent. First off, white people trying to be gangsta is hilarious in real life, so actors trying to play them is even more funny and unbelievable. There are a few random sing along outbursts of random rap songs that you can't help but laugh at and the story of a bored affluent white girl looking for some excitement in East LA is not the best plot. Overall the flick is shot pretty nice. Good color and some of the shots are great of them riding around in the car, especially at the end with the 180 degree pan of the intersection with the gangstas and white boys. You should only watch this film if you think Anne Hathaway is kind of cute like I do.
Ok, so this flick came out in 2005, but I just watched it recently, and highly recommend it if you're into films like, Donnie Darko
It's shot rather similar in some cases and has a pretty cool soundtrack. There's also a whole slew of very talented actors and actresses including, Glenn Close, William Fichtner, Allison Janney, and Rita Wilson
Growing up in a affluent suburban town in California, this was like watching my city on hyper speed. Just a little more out there and sarcastic.
The idea that all suburban kids are on meds and live video games....
